British Council–funded project to strengthen cooperation between Coventry University and Ton Duc Thang University in Vietnam. The project was originally designed to explore self-produced compressed earth blocks and related processes to support earthen masonry housing for low-income communities in Ho Chi Minh City. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the practical implementation of this work was not possible. As a result, the project focus shifted towards investigating the barriers to the wider use of earth as a construction material, including technical, social, regulatory, and market-related challenges.
